Day 1 : Antananarivo – Ambositra

Day 2 : Ambositra Fianarantsoa – Ambalavao

  • Ambalavao : The charming town of Ambalavao is located in the southeastern part of the Haute Matsiatra region, at the border between the South and the Highlands. It is known for its Antaimoro paper, natural pools, and the Andringitra National Park, which contribute to the town’s reputation.

Day 3: Ambalavao – Ranohira

  • Description: Ranohira is a small town located in the far south of Madagascar. It serves as the starting point for major hikes to explore the Isalo massif, one of the country’s top tourist attractions.

Day 4 : Beroroha – Mangoky River – Beronono Track

  • Description :
  • Beroroha : Beroroha is a rural commune located in the southwest of Madagascar, serving as the administrative center of the Beroroha district in the Atsimo-Andrefana region. Our journey includes crossing the Mangoky River by pirogue. Then, we will continue our adventure with a hike along the bed of the Makay River. The exploration goes on through the dry tropical forest, shaded by trees, while enjoying the coolness inside a cave adorned with rock paintings, apparently created by Portuguese explorers in the 17th century.
  • Piste Bernono : Along the way, we pass by numerous villages: Vohimalaza, Ambalabe, Sotana… All these villages share the same traditional style with mud houses and thatched roofs. The 50 km stretch between Beroroha and Beronono offers a glimpse into rural life, where the locals are warm and welcoming, always greeting visitors with smiles.

Day 5 : Discovering the Makay massif

  • Description: Situé au Sud-Ouest de Madagascar, Makay est un massif montagneux de Madagascar qui s’étend sur 4000 Km au Nord du massif de l’Isalo. C’est un splendide labyrinthe de profonds canyons abritant une biodiversité exceptionnelle. Aussi, les forêts du Makay abritent à la fois des espèces qui lui sont uniques et d’autres, endémiques de Madagascar. La nature géologique du massif en fait un véritable château d’eau naturel. La majorité des cours d’eau qui en descendent s’écoulent vers l’est puis le sud dans le Mangoky, le plus long fleuve de l’île de Madagascar. Cette situation fait du Makay un véritable coffre-fort de la biodiversité de la grande ile.

Day 6 : Day of Hiking Through the Canyons

The canyons du Makay sont remplis d’une végétation luxuriante sont le refuge d’une riche biodiversité. Le Canyon du Makay offre à la fois un paysage luxuriant à travers les canyons. La végétation xérophile omniprésente pendant toute la saison.

Day 7 : Makay River 

  • Description: We will continue our adventure by walking on flat terrain through a dry forest while staying close to the massif. Along the way, we’ll pass through a charming village before continuing on toward the Menapanda River.

Day 8 : Return to Ranohira (By Car)

    Welcome to one of the most beautiful natural parks in Madagascar, where the magnificence is matched only by the joy of exploring it. Isalo National Park is a natural rocky massif, resembling a field of ruins due to its very unique terrain. Composed of rocks formed over 150 million years ago, the park alternates between desert landscapes and lush canyons through which numerous rivers flow, originating from stunning natural pools, creating an absolutely breathtaking visual effect. Isalo is a charming park where you can encounter lemurs along a lovely walk leading to two watering holes and a waterfall. The walk is truly enjoyable.

Day 10 : Isalo -Tuléar- Ifaty

In terms of natural wealth, Tuléar offers many surprises, such as the Tsinjoriake Protected Area, located at the city’s entrance, which is a paradise for tourists interested in ecotourism. From the Table Mountain with its breathtaking panoramic views to exploring the Binabe Caves and the Sarodrano Peninsula, your days will be full of discovery.

Description After breakfast, we will attend the famous safari Whale à ne surtout pas manquer entre le mois de  juin et septembre à Ifaty, an idyllic place with pristine white sand and turquoise waters. A paradise setting perfect for relaxation. Rich in biodiversity, Ifaty is also counted among the most beautiful diving spots of the region, and even Madagascar, notably for its 100 km long coral reef.
