Day 5: MITSINJO FOREST (Observation day)

Description: The Mitsinjo Park, also known as the Analamazaotra Forest Station, is located just before the entrance to Andasibe Park on National Road 2. Managed by a local association of the same name that promotes community-based tourism, this forest station offers the opportunity to observe the indri, the region’s emblematic species, as well as birdwatching along five trails: Vahimantsina, Babakotokely, Tanafasika, Louvelli, and Sahamamy.

Day 13: TABLE MOUNTAIN AND SAINT AUGUSTIN

Description: Once at the summit of the mountain that gave its Malagasy name “Andatabo,” your effort will be rewarded with an exceptional 360° view of Saint Augustine Bay, the Sarodrano dunes, the Onilahy River wetland, and the surrounding bush. The walk continues with a visit to the village of Ankoronga, known for its crafts, and the local trail. Another route, starting from the village of Saint Augustine, allows you to discover the colonies of flamingos along the Onilahy River. The morning hike through the rice fields leads to a natural spring where you can take a refreshing swim before climbing Barn Hill Mountain for a breathtaking view of the bay, animated by the pirogues of the Vezo fishermen.
