Northern Discovery: Nosy Be and Sainte Marie

Day 1 : TANA- Diégo Suarez

Day 2 : Exploration of the Red Tsingy

Description : The Red Tsingy are true masterpieces of Nature, made up of sandstone, marl, and limestone. This community-managed site is located 16 km down a dirt road from the village of Saharegnana and 60 km south of the city of Diego Suarez. Traditional villages, baobab and pachypodium forests, mountain ranges, and rice paddies punctuate the route.

Day 3 DIEGO – FRENCH MOUNTAIN – 3 BAYS – RAMENA

Description: This historically rich site is part of the local population’s daily landscape. It is also the oldest archaeological site in Madagascar. Rising to 450 meters above sea level, the summit is made up of limestone covering marl—a natural mixture of clay and limestone—forming the lower slopes. This site, both historical and touristic, enjoys an excellent location near the city of Diego Suarez and at the gateway to other renowned tourist attractions in the region (Emerald Sea, Ramena, the Three Bays…).

Le premier parcours proposé se nomme « Baobab Valley »To discover, notably, the two species of baobabs, including the famous Adansonia suarezensis, a species endemic to northern Madagascar.
The second route « 360° Tour » . At the summit, you will be rewarded with an impressive panoramic view of the entire Diego Bay that unfolds before you. This bay is the second largest in the world after Rio de Janeiro’s. It is also part of the very exclusive “most beautiful bays in the world” club.

The last proposed route is the « Valley of the Parrots ».This circuit is designed for trekking enthusiasts and dedicated hikers. The itinerary includes sport and adventure. Explore the limestone rock forest, also known as the Tsingy, and its forest heritage, which is part of a new protected area.

Day 4 : On the way to AMBANJA

Description: In the morning, we set off for the town of Ambanja, literally meaning "Where there is powder," located in the northwest of Madagascar, 18 kilometers from the port of Ankify and about 500 km as the crow flies from Antananarivo. This town, built on the banks of the Sambirano River, is especially noted for its vast cocoa plantations. Ambanja is the commercial and cultural center of a largely agricultural region with more than 200,000 inhabitants. It is renowned as a strategic hub for export crop plantations such as pepper, coffee, ylang-ylang, and especially cocoa.

Day 5 : Drive to Ankify, boat crossing to Nosy Be – sunset at Mont Passot

You will be charmed by its small port that shelters an incredible coral reef, which you can admire while scuba diving. Afterwards, we will admire a magnificent sunset in an idyllic setting at Mont Passot.

Day 6 : NOSY BE excursion to NOSY IRANJA

Covering 321 km², it is Madagascar’s top tourist destination—a dreamland boasting numerous white sandy beaches. Surrounded by beautiful small islands, Nosy Be offers an unparalleled land of dreams and adventures. The splendid Nosy Iranja , is located southwest of Nosy Be, beyond the Bay of the Russians. In fact, it consists of two islands connected by a white sandbank. The second island (inhabited) is accessible at low tide and houses a former hotel establishment closed to the public. It is one of the most beautiful islands of Madagascar.
