Indri Indri and the Pangalanes

Analamazaotra Special Preserve

The reserve is a fragment of mid-altitude mountain forest between 930 and 1040 m. Many species of large trees have been cut down and the canopy averages between 25 and 30 m. The reserve is dedicated to the protection of Madagascar’s largest lemur species, the Indri indri, an animal that differs from the common lemur in size and cub-like appearance.
