The Indri Indri and the Pangalanes

Analamazaotra Special Reserve

The reserve is a fragment of mid-altitude mountain forest, located between 930 and 1040 meters. Several specimens of large trees have been cut down, and the canopy is generally between 25 and 30 meters high. The reserve is dedicated to the protection of Madagascar’s largest lemur species, the Indri indri, an animal whose size and bear-like appearance set it apart from common lemurs.

The Peyrieras Private Reserve

It is especially famous for its vast collection of reptiles and butterflies.
